The Design of the Mind and Body Part 7

In order for your body to perform well for you, it needs the right information. You want to express the best and most comprehensive version of yourself. This is based on being able to genetically express the best version of you. In order to do this, you have to give your body the right information and minimize the wrong information.

The right information is proper nutrition, adequate sleep, positive environments, engaging in activities that promote well-being, physical activity, proper breathing, good quality hydration, exposure to nature and the outdoors, honoring your circadian rhythms, and proactively managing stress responses.

The Right Information

The right information is proper nutrition, adequate sleep, positive environments, engaging in activities that promote well-being, physical activity, proper breathing, good quality hydration, exposure to nature and the outdoors, honoring your circadian rhythms, and proactively managing stress responses.

There are others as well, but these are the basics. Eat nutritious foods, get adequate sleep, be mindful of your thinking and feeling states, be proactive about stress, get outside and move your body. That’s really it. It’s not that hard.

Our remote ancestors didn’t have to be told this. They knew it instinctively. No one had to give them lectures, telling them “This is what it takes to be healthy.” They just did it because it was instinctive. We’ve lost that instinct. We think of it as the stuff we have to do, or ought to do, but don’t want to do, but then complain because we feel bad, and we’re sick and can’t get well.

You must give your body the right information, and these habits and activities are the right information.

If you make these activities part of your usual routine, your body will thrive for you. It will heal. It will give you back a positive experience of life. It’s amazing what’s waiting for you if you’ll simply honor the design of your body.

In the next post, we’ll briefly visit the wrong information, the information that can make you sick.
